– Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.

– Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

– Ensure resource availability and allocation.

– Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.

– Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.

– Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.

– Report and escalate to management as needed.

– Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.

– Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

– Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.

– Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Requirements

– Great educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering for technical project managers.

– Proven working experience as a project administrator in the information technology sector.

– Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies

– Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

– Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

– Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

The job is varied and includes planning strategies for maximum yield, organizing farm administration, working machinery, organizing associated businesses and managing staff.

Farm managers need to have technical and practical competence, as well as the ability to make sound business decisions.

Farm managers must appreciate the need to satisfy set regulations for safe, high-quality produce farmed in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Functions / Responsibilities of a Farm Manager

  Keeping financial records up to date.

  Practical activities, e.g. driving tractors, operating machinery, feeding livestock, spraying fields, etc.

  Marketing the farm’s products.

  Buying supplies, such as fertilizer and seeds.

  Arranging the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, machinery and equipment.

  Making sure that products are ready for deadlines, such as auctions and markets

  Wind power generation.

  Maintaining and monitoring the quality of yield, whether livestock or crops.

  Planning finances and production to maintain farm progress against budget parameters.

  Ensuring that farm activities comply with government regulations.

  Locally and international sourcing for available client.

  Creating fishing lakes.

  Monitoring animal health and welfare, including liaising with vets.

  Maintaining a knowledge of pests and diseases and an understanding of how they spread and how to treat them.
